ChildcareSOS calls at No.10, and support from local pupils Print E-mail

Employers For Childcare are delighted that Gordon Brown has changed his mind and will not axe childcare vouchers.

Moya O’Kane age 3 pays a visit to No.10 to thank Gordon Brown for changing his mind, so she can stay at nursery.  Moya’s parents Mr & Mrs Finbar O’Kane both benefit from the childcare voucher scheme. On hearing the news that the scheme was to stay in place Mr O’Kane said, “I am delighted that Gordon Brown has finally seen sense. As a father with two children under the age of 5, the childcare voucher scheme takes the sting out of our childcare costs, and makes a huge difference to our family.”

The campaign has been a tremendous success and has widespread support from parents and politicians throughout Northern Ireland. Recently over 150 pupils from Edenbrooke Primary School and St Paul’s Primary School participated in a human SOS in association with Employers For Childcare’s ChildcareSOS campaign, to thank Gordon Brown for changing his mind and to symbolise that the SOS had been answered by local Northern Ireland and Westminster politicians.
