IT BASECAMP - First Course Underway – Second Course Already Enrolling |

The 19th January 2010 saw the successful launch of the first IT Basecamp course at Avalon House. The first of five sessions was delivered by the Avec Solutions IT Support Manager Robin Montgomery. This first session provided an introduction to computers, networks and the internet and also looked at the participants role as an IT support manager within their organisation
In addition to the actual hands-on training provided, support will be ongoing throughout the year via a dedicated website which includes a forum where course participants can communicate and help each other.
For those yet unfamiliar with IT Basecamp, the course is aimed at training up non-IT staff in client organisations to undertake basic IT management and maintenance themselves. Hopefully this will lower IT support costs as well as improving the quality of support given when professional help is required.
The course has been heavily subsidised through support form the Lloyds TSB Foundation.
